Jessie Hook

Destination Stewardship Network Manager

Hook has been a part of the Taos community since 2019, and brings a strong background in strategic planning and community development to the role.

She holds an MBA in sustainability and has worked with mission-driven organizations across the country, supporting strategy, operations and impact measurement.

Hook's work in Taos began with Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, where as a seasonal sawyer she conducted forest fire mitigation projects and supported the nonprofit's programming. She has since contributed to several nonprofit development efforts, including with Taos County Economic Development Corporation, the Quivira Coalition and Taos Housing Partnership.

Her diverse experience also includes guiding wilderness trips for youth in Wyoming and nearly two years teaching English in Chile, which lends a global perspective to her locally focused work.

Her work, she said, is grounded in a passion for community and place.

Currently,  she is coordinating and strengthening a network of partners, including local governments, industry leaders, nonprofit organizations and community members. Her work will facilitate collective action to ensure tourism in Taos is sustainable, equitable and community-driven.
