As the season wraps up, we want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made Meet Me at McCarthy’s such a special series. From our wonderful attendees who came out week after week, to the dedicated volunteers who kept everything running smoothly, to our local merchants, sponsors, and raffle donors, your support made it all possible.

Together, we created a space for connection, movement, and community spirit in downtown Taos. Every smile, step, and cheer along the route contributed to 21 weeks of fun, friendship, and shared memories. We’re so grateful to each and every one of you for helping us build something that truly brings the community together.

FAQs

  • Meet Me at McCarthy’s (MMM) is a free weekly walk, jog, or run event held every Monday evening from 5–7 PM in downtown Taos. It’s designed to bring people of all ages together for outdoor movement, community connection, and wellness in an inclusive, non-competitive setting.

  • The program runs every Monday from May 19 to September 29, 2025, at McCarthy Plaza, just steps from the historic Taos Plaza. Participants can arrive between 5 and 5:30 PM to check in.

  • Yes! The event is completely free and open to all ages. Leashed dogs are welcome too.

  • Yes! We love consistency:

    • Attend 7 events: receive a one-of-a-kind Meet Me at McCarthy’s t-shirt

    • Attend 14 events: earn a unique MMM hat

    • Attend all 20 events: receive a special pin and public recognition
      Attendance rolls over year-to-year, so your efforts are never lost.

  • Not at all. You can choose your pace and distance — 1, 2, or 3-mile routes are available. Whether you walk, jog, or run, the goal is movement and community, not speed or competition.

    You decide your route. Cut off and enjoy the town if you’d like!

  • Check-in begins at 5 PM at McCarthy Plaza. Volunteers will help you sign in electronically. You'll receive a stamp, a raffle ticket, and a red blinking safety light to wear during your walk/run. Return the light at the end of the event.

  • MMM encourages wellness, builds community connections, supports local businesses, and fosters partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and local leaders. It’s about showing up, together.
